Why did the Protoss construct additional pylons? They needed them to power their buildings and units.
Why did the Zerg spawn more Overlords? Because otherwise, the armies would run rampant.
Why did the Terran build more supply depots? Because each one comes with smokes, and by golly, two packs per man just ain't enough in wartime.
